Pre-order Mike’s next album, and support a great cause

Hello, friends, fans, and followers!

I have two pieces of very exciting news:

1. I will soon begin recording my fifth album, called “Poverty is Real,” which will be released this fall.

2. More importantly, you have an opportunity to pre-order the record AND support a great cause.

Here’s how it works:

Between now and August 1, every $15 pre-order of Poverty is Real will also generate a $5 donation to the Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM)—a non-profit organization that helps families alleviate and prevent homelessness. Learn more here: http://decaturcooperativeministry.org

And, if you are feeling especially generous, you can contribute even more to support the record and help the DCM fulfill its vital mission.1/3 of every dollar contributed will be redirected to DCM. The more you give, the more you help, and the more you get:

$15: Advance copy of Poverty is Real (PIR) and a big thank you!
$25: Advanced, signed copy of PIR and a PIR T-shirt
$50: Three signed PIR cds, demos album*, PIR T-shirt/poster
$100: Five signed PIR cds, PIR T-shirt/poster, two tix to PIR release show, and the demos album
$300: Everything above, an invite to the listening party, and a copy of all four previous MK albums
$500: Everything above, plus “thank you” listing in album liner notes and a private acoustic show in your home (as long as you live in Georgia!)

(*“Demos, Outtakes, Live, and Whatnot Volume II: 2007-2010” will be released in January 2011)

So, if you are willing and able to support the project and the Decatur Cooperative Ministry, make a secure donation through PayPay (you do not have to have a PayPal account to give this way). Or if you know me and want to hand me a check, that of course works too! I will keep track of who has given what, regularly update everyone on how much we’ve raised for DCM, and make sure to send out the rewards at the appropriate time.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and thank you for your support of “Poverty is Real” and the Decatur Cooperative Ministry.
